Heather and Ted

Heather and Ted were married at Flinn Springs Park, San Diego in July. It was a nice warm day set against a great view of the mountains. Guests were given white parasols and fans for the ceremony, which made for a picturesque sight. Heather was very hands on, and made her own bouquet and centerpieces, which turned out great!
Food was provided by Kiva Catering, and the cake was by Danielle Smith of D's Desserts. There was wonderful live jazz music provided by Paul Ingram Quartet. Gerardo of G Gabriel Photography did a great job of capturing the event.

Heather and Ted were such a wonderful couple to work with and I am so happy for them!

The following pictures were taken by me, which explains why they're not as nice as the photos above :)

Cowgirl Boots

Right now I am loving cowboy boots, so naturally I think it would be adorable to incorporate them into a wedding. Here are some cute photos of cowboy boots in weddings. They create a really rustic, country chic vibe that I love at the moment.

Mason Jars

Vintage mason jars have become increasingly popular lately for weddings and decorating. I have always loved them because they are beautiful and so versatile. They create a great, simple centerpiece in minutes. They can also be used for drinks, to hold candles, or wired and hung in trees to light up an outdoor wedding. Below are some beautiful and inspirational images using vintage mason jars. Enjoy!

Produce Inspired Decor

I love the idea of using vegetables as table decor. It's especially great for couples who love to garden or cook.

In this example, vegetables are used to create a very rustic and casual feel.

The use of vegetables along with candelabra, glassware and linens creates a more elegant look.

Vintage seed packets make for adorable table names!

Welcome to Lily & Mint!

I am very excited to welcome you all to Lily & Mint Weddings and Events. I have been planning events since 2008 under the name Daffodil Events, and my sister Johanna and I recently joined forces to create Lily & Mint. We are going to be working together to create personal and beautiful events. We decided on this name for a couple of reasons. My late grandmother was named Elizabeth Lily Frenkel. Everyone called her Lily, and so this is in some ways a tribute to her. She was a truly amazing woman and grandmother! We also just wanted to make our name more personal and to represent family, which is one of the most important aspects of weddings - the coming together of families.
While lilies are very beautiful and delicate flowers, mint to me represents all of that is fresh and new. In this way, we are forging the old and vintage (which we truly love) with more modern elements. We are both very excited to be working together to create beautiful and timeless weddings and events!
